It's
all down-hill, and into Lake Tahoe, from here!
During
rain or spring thaw, almost every commercial property
with lake frontage contributes hazardous toxins into Lake Tahoe.
Water running over hard surfaces;
asphalt,
concrete, even just compacted aggregate materials, like road
base are considered "coverage"; a landscape element that isn't
welcome around here!
To
mitigate dust, erosion and help filter melting snow waters,
artificial grass was used over several layers of porous
fabrics, compacted drain rock and compacted aggregate to achieve
the optimum in grey water run-off reclamation and erosion
control. Surfaces were built to absorb up to 30 inches of water
per hour, per square foot of surface area.
Catch
basins were added, as dry wells; to catch down-hill run-off,
in strategic collection sites where watershed can accumulate,
then slowly & naturally percolate through native soils, to
the water table.
